Name the "LRC ND224" Competition! RESULTS!
by Emma Price - Thursday, 19 January 2012, 10:56 AM

We are pleased to announce that a new name has been chosen for the IES LRC (ND224) following a competition that was run before Christmas. (See original message below) There were over 200 suggestions, so thank you to everyone who took part.

After much deliberation by a panel of judges, including a member of the student governing body, we decided to call the room “The Link”.

Congratulations to Clarissa Cheesebrough who came up with the winning entry.

We hope you agree that “The Link” is an excellent name for our learning support area and sums up what help it offers to everyone in the College

Original Message:

Attention All Students!

We are running a competition to name the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) ND224. There is a fantastic prize on offer – Argos vouchers worth £40.00!!

Located on the top floor in D Block, the LRC offers support to students with disabilities and/or additional needs such as Visual Impairment, Dyslexia and learning difficulties.  The support comes in the form of 1:1 tutorial support, note taking, exam arrangements and much more.

We also hold Drop-In workshops several times a week where students can get help with their course work and assignments: we can also help with literacy and numeracy.

There is a suggestion box in Reception in ND224, or you can send an email to: catherine.rollings@nptc.ac.uk

The deadline is Wednesday 21 December at 12pm.

So get your thinking caps on and come up with a name that covers all our services!

You could be the lucky winner!
